This post is a very short one, just to motivate and encourage.
Often when we begin a new journey in life, whether that be losing weight, starting a new business, starting a family, a career change, whatever it is, we are usually exicted and full of energy at the start. At some point in that journey, we begin to flag, our motivation can leave us. We can feel fed up, tired of it all and just want to simply say "Are we there yet?"
The unexpected hurdles and disappointments we did not prepare for, can be crushing and make you lose focus, and make you just want to say, "Screw it, i'm done." It is at these points, you take a moment to look back on where you were & realise, there is no way in hell I came this far, to only come this far.
Imagine you need to drive 200 miles to somewhere, at first it is all fun, music blaring, snacks, resting points, everything is great for the first few miles of driving. Then all you see ahead of you is stretches of motorway, and your satnav says you still got over halfway to go before you reach your destination. It does not feel so fun now. So, what if you just pulled up on the hard-shoulder at that point there and said i'm done? Well for a start you would not get to experience whatever it is at your original destination, that made you take the journey in the first place. Imagine missing out on that joy or momentous thing, just because you gave up. So thats when you look at how many miles you have already clocked up and say, as tiresome, boring and hard as this is, I got to keep on going.
Don't quit. Look in the rearview mirror of your life and understand how amazingly you have done so far, and keep on going.
This post is as much for me as it is for anyone else.
Candice did not come this far, to only come this far.
