Just Do It!
I can't believe half the year is almost already gone since my last blog post. In one sense it’s great, as it means that I’ve been steadily busy with work, but at the same time, it makes me realise I need to manage my time better, so that I can be more consistent with my posts.
This blog post is a long-overdue follow up from the interview I filmed way back in February.
A bit of background, Butterflyy Productions is the brand. The Mama Butterflyy. Under that, I have 3 businesses. That is why I’m always so busy.
1. Butterflyy Property Services - Launched in 2016.
Home Renovations & Maintenance company
2. Butterflyy Bliss – Launched in 2017
Produce & Supply completely natural skincare products
3. Social Butterflyy Events – Launch TBA
Events Management company
I’ve had family and friends ask me if I’m actually crazy, and they don’t know how I do it. When the idea first started to form in my head, I was so scared to even think about how to begin to execute such a huge undertaking. I kept wondering, what will people think? Can I really do this? Am I trying to be something I’m not? So many doubts were flying around in my head. As the saying goes though, if you goals and dreams don’t scare you, then they are not big enough. So with that mind-set, I went for it.
So just to elaborate on the tips I gave in the video, which you can find on the home page, if you’re thinking of taking the leap & chasing those dreams you have.
Take Your Time – Nothing comes before its good and perfect timing. Don’t rush your personal journey & process trying to keep up with other people. We’re all walking our own road of life, and if that means that it takes you a little longer to get to where you want to be than it took somebody else, that’s fine. That’s the time it was supposed to happen for you. During that time, take moments to think things through properly, do your research, and behave accordingly with what needs to be done to get you to final goal.
Do What’s Best For You – Nobody needs to validate your dreams for you, except yourself. If it makes you happy & you can’t see yourself being happy with anything else, do it! You have nothing to lose and everything to gain. You will certainly get the naysayers, but ignore them and keep it moving & just do you. The worst that can happen is you tried & it didn’t work out, and that’s a hell of a lot more than someone who didn’t even try. Maybe if it doesn’t work, it wasn’t the right time for you. One thing for certain though, even if it doesn’t work, you will take lessons away from the experience, that you will undoubtedly use later on down the line somewhere, somehow.
Keep Your Circle Right – You need the right people around you. Not every day is Christmas, and some days you’ll be fully ready to say “Screw it, I’m done!” That’s when you need a strong, encouraging & supportive group of people in your corner, reminding you of how far you have come. Cheering you on to keep going, and to just generally lift you back up again.
Don’t Give Up – Nothing worth having in life comes easy. Anything worth having takes hard work and determination. Top surgeons don’t get to where they are by taking the easy road. It took for them to work hard, be determined, and keep striving no matter how hard or bad things got. They do this because they constantly keep the end goal in sight. So keep your goal in sight. Create a vision board & put somewhere you can see it every day. Put notes on your phone; keep a picture of your why in close proximity. Whatever it takes to stop you from giving up, do it. It’s perfectly fine to have off-days & wallow and feel sorry for yourself, but after you’ve done that, and not for too long, get the hell up again and get back on it.
Enjoy The Ride – Setting yourself a goal is the easy part. Working towards it and achieving it is the hard bit. You’ll make mistakes, you’ll cry, you’ll laugh, you’ll get some things right first time. You’ll scream, you’ll feel stuck, you’ll feel exhilarated, you’ll feel proud. Whatever the emotion, embrace it at the time, and enjoy the journey with all its ups & downs.
Do you! Be you! Enjoy it! Love every moment of it! You never know where it will lead!
JUST DO IT!
